- Research into the brand you’re purchasing from. There’s nothing worse than spending your hard-earned money on a hot tub that won’t stand the test of time.
- Consider sizing up if you prefer to be spread out. The dimensions given tend to mean how many people can fit if you were all to be side by side. So if two people will be using it regularly, consider opting for a 4 person hot tub, and so on.
- Research into what chemicals you need to maintain your inflatable hot tub. Although inflatable hot tubs are the easiest to run, they still require maintenance. Make sure you know what is essential before purchasing.

Hot tub chemicals, chlorine, and test strips
Usually, these essentials can be bought by the same manufacturer to ensure an ideal fit to the requirements of the hot tub.

These essential chemicals are for maintaining the water health of your hot tub.
This will ensure that the hot tub’s water chemical levels remain safe, whilst also extending the life, and ensuring great performance.

Filter cartridges
Replacement water filter cartridges ensure that a hot tub maintains an optimal filter performance – keeping it clean and safe from any possible contaminants. They are probably one of the most important factors that go into ensuring that a hot tub works effectively.
Filter cartridges are easy to use, all you have to do is ensure that the filter is rinsed with clean water after every use, to remove any small particles and/or unwanted residue.
It’s worth mentioning that the filter cartridge will need replacing from time to time, and the frequency will depend on how much you use your hot tub, along with the overall condition of the filter. Replace the filter cartridge if you notice:
- The filter remains soiled after cleaning.
- Holes are visible on the paper.
- The paper is noticeably worn.
Chemical dispensers
Chemical dispensers ensure that all the essential chemicals needed to maintain a hot tub are distributed accordingly and efficiently. They usually offer useful features that will allow for less hassle, including an adjustable dial to control sanitiser levels. They’ll automatically release the essential chemicals when it’s needed.
